Enhancements in electronics can bring new levels of independence for a consumer. The Q-Logic 3 system has new enhancements that truly allow the electronics to be able to be customized to the individual significantly. This course will provide a hands-on approach to how specialty controls can be programmed with maximal benefit to the consumers that need these electronics. Clinical scenarios will be offered to assist with understanding the application of new features.

Clinically Speaking - A Practical Guide to Evaluation and Documentation for Power Seat Options 0.3 CEU/3.0 CEC

This course will examine the coverage criteria, clinical benefits and research in support of the various power seating functions, provide the clinician with practical tools to consider and incorporate when evaluating and documenting the need for power seat options; and assist the supplier in reading and interpreting the information in the medical record to determine when to provide power tilt, power recline, a combination of tilt and recline; when power ELRs or a power AFP is medically necessary and what is required for power seat elevation to be considered a covered benefit. The course will include a hands on component for participants to utilize power tilt, power recline and power seat elevation.

Reimbursopoly - Decode Medicare's Mobility Assistive Equipment (MAE) Documentation Requirements

This comprehensive course will examine the questions outlined in the National Coverage Determination for Mobility Assistive Equipment. Attendees will take a detailed look at Medicare’s policy, coverage criteria and documentation requirements. This course will provide the clinician with practical tools to incorporate into the evaluation and documentation requirements and assist the supplier in reading and interpreting the information provided for the equipment that is recommended. Participants will have the opportunity to utilize knowledge obtained during the lecture portion and/or apply general knowledge of Medicare’s mobility assistive equipment (MAE) policy and coverage criteria (i.e. documentation requirements) to the review of case study claim examples to obtain and retain appropriate funding for mobility assistive equipment.
