Great Activities for Children with Disabilities

When school is out, it can be a challenge keeping kids entertained during the summer. And depending on your children’s disability, certain activities may be limited. Thankfully, there are a lot of great resources for parents who need help coming up with new and fun activities to keep their child stimulated and engaged. Amber Bobnar is the founder of wonderbaby.org and mother to young Ivan. In her blog, “36 Fun Summer Activities for Kids Who Are Blind or Multiply Disabled,” Amber has a lot of great suggestions of things she and Ivan do during the summer months. Plus, many of the activities can be done year-round.

The list of activities is extremely varied. There’s plenty of water activities for hot summer days, as well as quieter games for when a few hours of downtime are needed. Best of all, most of these activities are super easy and/or inexpensive.
